Some people think that students need to take part in school management, whereas others think that they do not have enough experience for it.

I think that students should be given a chance to influence some important things about school. First of all, they are the ones who follow all the rules that come from above. Second, administrators can make mistakes and make some rules that might be a complete disaster for students. Also, everything that is done at school has a purpose to educate children better. So, I think that it is good to have some feedback and perhaps modify or improve the program for whom it is designed.

Some other people say children are driven by their desires and it is dangerous to trust them with important decisions about running a school. They will always chose what is better for their interests but not for the learning process.

Well, first of all "involve" does not mean that they will make their own rules. Namely, "from now on we will cut the number of lessons a day from 7 to 2". They will just express their opinion about some important aspects of the learning process. This opinion should be thoroughly discussed and then taken into consideration. Even though they are sometimes on a sensitive level, they are able to make correct choices.

In conclusion, I would like to say that there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight involving pupils in ruling schools might lead to mistakes, but in actual fact it makes students more experienced. Thus, I strongly believe that treating pupils as adults and trusting them to influence some adult decisions makes a lot of sense.
