Some people say that it’s cruel to keep animals in zoos whereas others don’t agree.

I think that it’s not that bad to keep animals in zoos. First of all they, they are perfectly protected from their natural enemies. In zoos they have nothing to fear. Secondly, if an animal gets sick, it gets immediate help. Lots of animals die of different diseases in the wild. Also in good zoos people arrange good conditions for each animal that look like its natural ones.

At the same time there are people who say that animals have to hunt and be hunted. They have to follow their instincts, only in this case they are happy.

In my opinion these people have a point. For some wild animals it’s better to live in the wild nature. Nevertheless, a lot of zoo animals were born in zoos so they would not survive in other places. They are well fed, loved and pretty much happy in modern zoos.

In conclusion, I'd like to say that if we weigh all the facts that support keeping animals in zoos against the ones that criticize their captivity, we'll see that the facts that support zoos outweigh those against.
