Some people think that an interesting plot is the best contribution to a good film, whereas others consider movie special effects as the most substantial contribution to a good movie.

In my opinion, an exciting plot is the most important contribution to any good, and interesting movie. First of all, good plots grip one’s attention and keep it during the entire film. For example, when a person cannot guess what is going to happen next then he or she watches the movie with increased interest and attention. Secondly, gripping scenarios make a movie highly unpredictable. For instance, Nikita Mikhalkov’s movie “12” is noticeably difficult to predict therefore it keeps people’s attention really well.

At the same time, there are people who consider special effects are more important than a good plot. They say “Star Wars” would not be as popular if it did not have as many special effects as it has.

I do not agree with the opinion mentioned above. The first films of the “Star Wars” series did not have a lot of special effects but yet they remain the most interesting films of the franchise’s theatrical runs.

In conclusion, I would like to say there are opposing views on this issue. At first sight special effects seem to be essential but in actual fact a well written plot is the main attribute of an interesting movie. Thus, I strongly believe that an exiting plot is the best contribution to a movie.
