Dear Jackie,

Thank you very much for your letter. It was a pleasant surprise.

I am sorry to hear that your parents don’t allow you to go on vacation with your friends.

As a matter of fact, my father never allows me to go on holidays with my friends. He tells me that I am very young, etc. I think that you can try to persuade them but I am not sure that you will be successful. As for me, I’ve tried to do it a lot of times but it’s been in vain.

As far as I understand, they will let me do it when I finish school. I think that we can only wait for that day when our parents will leave us alone.

How old was your elder brother when your parents started letting him go on vacation? Do you want to go far? How long are you going to be away from home?

I gotta go now.
